Insplorer respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data.

Data Storage

Your Instagram profile data and analytics are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Session credentials are stored securely in the device's encrypted Keychain. AI-generated insights and recommendations are cached locally in UserDefaults.

AI Features & Data Transmission

Insplorer offers optional AI-powered features including growth tips, content strategy analysis, caption generation, weekly reports, and content planning. These features require your explicit consent before any data is transmitted.

When you enable AI features, the following data is sent to OpenAI (the AI provider) via a secure encrypted relay server:

• Follower and following counts, growth trends and weekly rate
• Engagement rates, posting frequency and consistency score
• Caption snippets (first ~80 characters of recent posts) and hashtags
• Audience tier breakdown (e.g. superfan/regular/casual percentages) and quality scores
• Bio text and best posting times
• Content type breakdown (Reels, Photos, Carousels)
• Photos you upload for AI caption generation (only when you use this feature)

The following data is never sent:

• Your Instagram password or login credentials
• Your follower or following lists
• Your existing post images (only photos you explicitly upload for caption generation are sent)

Data sent to OpenAI via their API is not used to train AI models, per OpenAI's API data usage policy. OpenAI processes this data under their enterprise-grade API data usage policy, which provides protections equivalent to or exceeding those described in this privacy policy, including encryption in transit and at rest, no use of API data for model training, and automatic deletion of API inputs and outputs after 30 days.

You must grant consent before any AI data sharing occurs. You can revoke consent at any time in Settings > AI & Data Sharing, which immediately stops all data transmission and clears cached AI data.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

Account & Data Deletion

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time by going to Settings > Delete Account & Data. This removes all locally stored analytics, cached profiles, app preferences, and session credentials from your device. Alternatively, logging out clears all local data and AI caches, and uninstalling the app removes everything from your device. Use "Clear Cache" in Settings to remove only cached analytics data.

Crash & Diagnostics

We collect anonymous crash and performance data to improve app stability. This data includes device model, OS version, and crash logs, and is not linked to your identity.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures including iOS Keychain encryption for credentials, authenticated API requests with bearer tokens, and HTTPS for all network communication. AI data is transmitted via HTTPS to a secure relay server before being forwarded to OpenAI.

Children's Privacy

This app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy periodically. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
